African Schools Digital Alliance

A school is stronger inside an alliance

AfricaSDA is the membership alliance for African schools. Member schools appear in a continental directory, take on patrons and godfathers from anywhere in the world, gain mentors for their pupils, and build working networks with one another.

The alliance

What membership gives a school

A school joins once, and is then visible to everyone looking for schools to support, to partner with, or to learn from. Membership is open to primary, secondary and technical schools across Africa, and to schools of the African diaspora — the Caribbean included.

01

A place in the directory

A profile every member can find: where the school is, how many pupils, what it teaches, what it needs and what it can offer. Searchable by country, level and need.

02

Patrons and godfathers

Individuals, companies, churches and alumni anywhere in the world can take on a member school: fees, equipment, a library, a lab, or a year of connectivity.

03

Mentors for pupils

Professionals and academics register as mentors and are matched to schools by subject — engineering, medicine, coding, agriculture, business, the trades.

04

Networks between schools

Follow another school, join a network by country or subject, share what worked, and run things together — exchanges, competitions, joint funding applications.

05

A door to the Foundation

Member schools are the schools TINFO Foundation works through: scholarships, computer labs, digital projects, competitions and awards reach the alliance first.

From $100 a year

A school joins its own country's network for $100 a year, every school on the continent for $350, and the patrons as well for $500. No school is turned away for want of the fee — write to us.

The directory

Every member school, findable

Search by country, by level, or by what a school is looking for. Names and public details are open to members; contacts and full profiles are released to signed-in members, so schools are not exposed to the whole internet.

Search a country, a level or a name to see member schools.

Contacts, pupil numbers and a school's stated needs are shown to signed-in members. Join the alliance to see them.

Patrons, godfathers, mentors

Take on a school, from wherever you are

A patron backs a member school with what it needs. A godfather commits for longer — a class through to graduation, a lab kept running, a scholarship renewed each year. A mentor gives time instead of money: a subject, an hour a month, a career a pupil had not imagined.

You register once, say what you can offer and where, and the alliance matches you to schools that asked for exactly that.

REGISTER AS A PATRON
Patron

One-off or occasional support, for a named school or wherever it is needed most.

Godfather or godmother

A standing commitment to one school, reported on each term, renewable each year.

Mentor

Time and expertise by subject, online or in person, matched to a school that asked.

Institutional partner

Universities, companies, NGOs and diaspora associations working across many schools at once.

Networks

Schools that follow each other go further

Inside the alliance a school has a feed, not a form. It posts what it is doing, follows schools it wants to learn from, joins networks by country or subject, and is notified when a school it follows opens something it could join.

Follow a school

See what another member is doing and be told when they post. No approval needed.

Join a network

By country, by region, by subject, or by a shared project. A school may be in many.

Post and be found

Results, a new lab, a competition win, a need. Patrons read these when choosing a school.

Work together

Exchanges, shared teachers, joint applications, inter-school competitions.

Membership

Four steps, and no fee

1

Register the school

The head teacher or an authorised member of staff fills in the form below.

2

We verify it

A short call or email with the school, so the directory holds real institutions only.

3

The profile goes live

The school appears in the directory and can be found by patrons, mentors and other schools.

4

Start working

Follow schools, join networks, receive matches, and reach Foundation programmes first.

What it costs

Three ways in for a school, and one for a supporter

A year at a time, in US dollars. Choose a tier and the registration form opens with it already set; membership begins once payment clears, and the school’s profile is created the same day.

A school that cannot meet the fee should write to us rather than stay outside the alliance — [email protected]. No school is turned away for want of a hundred dollars.

AfricaSDA is how the Foundation reaches schools

TINFO Foundation was established in honour and memory of Titus Ntungwen Fomuso, 1939–2017, to advance educational opportunity, digital inclusion and innovation across Africa. Its scholarships, computer labs, digital projects, conferences, competitions and awards run through the alliance — so a school that joins here is in line for all of them.
